On Sunday, the Tax Office seized 1,860 kilos of hashish at Calaceite beach in an operation carried out by Customs officers from Motril.
Operation ‘Arrecife’ forms part of a special surveillance operation being carried out along the Andalucian coast by the Customs Department and on Sunday, three patrol boats spotted an eight-metre inflatable craft heading for the coast at high speed and without lights. The craft had come from Morocco.
The Customs officers began an intervention an land and by sea, seizing 1,860 kilos of drugs contained in 62 packages.
The treffickers managed to flee the scene and have so far eluded capture.
