From Thursday May 17th until June 30th, the Convento San Francisco in Vélez-Málaga will be home to the travelling Picasso exhibition ‘Los Carteles de Picasso’ – ‘Picasso’s Posters’, a collection of 55 posters made by the artist for various occasions.
The posters are probably the least known aspect of the artist’s work. The posters were often commissioned by art galleries for exhibitions but also include posters for bullfighting and the occasional political event.
The poster collection belongs to Francisco Quero, antiquarian and collector, and from Vélez-Málaga it will then travel to the Municipal Art Museum in Genalguacil in July.
