Facebook is currently testing a ‘pay to promote’ system in New Zealand, allowing users to make the posts they make on the social network more conspicuous to their friends on the site.
Facebook is using a series of different prices in the trial, and is also offering a free option. The popular social network has apparently struggled to make posts of the greatest interest stand out, its algorithms currently emphasising updates that attract the most comments or ‘likes’.
New features are always being tested by many of the social networks, although not all turn out to be popular or successful.
