According to the Council, a team of technicians will be coming down from Madrid to take a look at the Paseo de los Carabineros, the old walkway between Calahonda beach and Burriana beach.
The walkway was closed about nine years ago as a result of a rockslide, although no further incidents have occurred. The technicians will assess the situation and even look into the possibility of opening it up again in phases if or when repairs are carried out.
The walkway was very popular and ever since its closure, the Council has been trying to get repairs carried out so it can be reopened to the public once more. In the meantime, it was pointed out that people still access parts of the walkway via the sea and the Council is asking the Department of Coasts to install warning signs.
