The AEN (Asociación Empresarios Nerja), the association representing many of the businesses in Nerja, has started an initiative aimed at helping shops in Nerja by assuming the cost of parking for tour buses in the Parking Balcón de Europa – Carabeo.
The AEN has reached an agreement with the owners of the Parking Balcón de Europa – Carabeo to pay the parking costs of tour buses arriving in Nerja. This means that, while the initiative lasts, neither the bus drivers nor the tour operators will be charged for parking.
The cost to the AEN will be around €3 per bus per day. The more tourists who visit the town, the better for the local businesses.

The local residents and part-time residents are the people who need help. Not the tourists.

I agree that it is residents and part time residents that really need help.
They are having to pay much higher charges every day not a one-off charge of only 3 euros per bus.
However, AEN cannot afford to subsidise everyone whilst lining the pockets of a Granada lawyer.
