Not long now until the Fiesta de San Juan, June 23rd/24th, and there are a number of events planned. The official, municipal, celebrations take place on Burriana beach starting at 22:00 on the night of June 23rd.
Entertainment is being provided by the group Alalba. At midnight, the bonfire will be lit and there will be a firework display.
The Council has set the mandatory rules for the fiesta which are:
- No camping on the beaches before 12:00 on June 23rd except in the case of El Playazo when camping is permitted as from June 22nd.
- It is not permitted to connect to the public electricity/lighting network.
- Cables (from generators etc) must not transit roads, paths or facilities.
- Wood used for camp fires must not contain nails or other sharp objects.
- It is not permitted to fence off, in any manner, any areas of the beach.
- Appliances, furniture etc must not be left behind on the beach.
- Music must be turned off between 04:00 and 10:00 on June 24th.
Many of these rules will no doubt be ignored as usual.
There is also music at Rincón del Sol on Burriana beach, El Papagayo on Calahonda beach and the Boatyard Bar on El Playazo beach.
