Twenty-five North African males were intercepted about 44 miles southeast of Cabo de Gasta, Almeria, as they tried to make their way to mainland Spain.
The boat was spotted at 12:45 on Saturday by a Frontex plane and vessels from the Marine Rescue Service were sent to intercept. The passengers were taken to Almeria port where the Red Cross were on hand to offer assistance before they were handed over to the National Police for processing.
