At the next plenary session, the Nerja Council has agreed to give support to the so-called ‘Express Licence’ contained in the recent Royal Decree 19/2012.
This means that anyone can open a business immediately just by providing a declaration at the Town Hall rather than having to wait for the various licences, such as opening and operating licences, an often time consuming process.
The Royal Decree aims to speed up the procedures for starting a small business (occupying under 300 square metres), eliminating some of the bureaucracy and stimulate economic growth.
Small businesses employ 1.8 million people and account for 5% of GDP.
