Fifty-five sub-Saharans, including a number of young children and babies, failed in their attempt to gain unauthorised entry into the land of mass unemployment after their boat was intercepted about four miles southeast of the Isla de Alborán.
The boat was spotted at 18:30 by a Marine Rescue plane and the vessel ‘Salvamar Hamal’ was sent to intercept. The immigrants arrived at the port of Motril late on Tuesday night, two of the passengers being transferred to hospital. One was suffering from a small amount of internal bleeding, the other was suffering severe abdominal pain.
