The Guardia Civil has arrested a local man, initials D.G.M., as the alleged perpetrator of ten robberies from homes in Nerja.
The alleged robber broke into houses in Nerja by breaking locks, forcing doors or windows or breaking windows, generally climbing to access the homes via the balconies. He stole easy to carry or saleable items such as laptops, mobile phones and other equipment, plus any cash he could find.
A police investigation began and a suspect was identified.
The robber always left the way he had entered and on one occasion, after committing two burglaries in the same area, he injured his ankle as he made his escape and was also spotted fleeing the scene. The suspected robber went to the Health Centre for treatment and from that date there were no more break-ins of a similar type.
The suspect, a Spanish national, was duly arrested.
