The Public Ports Authority of Andalucia, a dependency of the Ministry of Public Works of the Junta de Andalucia, has apparently completed the draft project for the construction of a new marina in Torrox and is in the process of completing the environmental impact report.
The proposed marina is to be located entirely within the municipality of Torrox, specifically on Calaceite beach 320 metres west of the mouth of the arroyo Frontiles.
The marina, currently budgeted at é27 million, will have berths for 486 boats and the project also includes the construction of shopping areas, car parks and services relating to boating.
The marina will be operated under an administrative concession. The documentation relating to the project is expected to be published shortly.
