Four Moroccan nationals have been detained and charged with crimes against the public health after allegedly transporting 938 kilos of hashish from Morocco to mainland Spain.
The operation, involving police from several provinces, a patrol boat and a helicopter, led to the detection of a small boat on the rio Guadalquivir which was suspected of carrying drugs.
When the occupants noticed the police presence they abandoned their cargo, 38 bales of hashish weighing 938 kilos, and fled the scene.
A patrol boat was monitoring a larger vessel from which the drugs had been allegedly transferred for transport to shore and the four occupants, all Moroccan nationals, were arrested.
