The Local Police in Torrox are preparing a comprehensive plan for traffic management in the old part of town with a report being due in the next few months.
According to the Mayor, Francisco Muñoz (PSOE), the detailed study will help optimize existing infrastructures with the objective of further promoting economic activity and tourism in this part of town. He added that he is aware that the upper parts of the town, with their narrow streets, are not easy to organise in terms of traffic but stressed that the socialists have done a lot in recent years to create suitable parking areas, such as the car parks at Almedina, El Pontil and the feria ground.
The mayor stated that the Council is working on a number of measures to optimise the use of car parks, particularly by residents in the area.
