The Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucia has approved a reduction in the number of its senior officials at provincial level as part of its commitment to austere, efficient and effective management.
The number of senior officials representing the Junta at provincial level will be reduced from 97 to 49.
Each province will have one regional delegate from the Junta de Andalucia and five territorial delegates to cover the areas of economic and employment issues, education, culture and sport, building, infrastructure and tourism , health and social policies, agriculture, fisheries, environment and spatial planning. There will also be a regional delegate for Gibraltar.
The remainder of the peripheral positions will be filled by Class A career Civil Servants.
