Around 550 schools in Andalucia may experience problems at the beginning of the new academic year on September 10th as a result of the Junta de Andalucia not paying its bills.
Companies providing services for the morning classroom of extracurricular activities say they haven’t been paid since January and that a total of €16 million is outstanding from the Junta de Andalucia.
The Junta de Andalucia apparently acknowledges that it owes a lot of money but states that it has a liquidity problem and it is making an effort to try and sort out the problem.
The companies, on the other hand, say the position is unsustainable and they have no choice but to suspend the educational services they normally provide.
