Volunteers, family and friends are organising a new search in September for missing British hiker Gordon Simm, last seen setting off for a trip up the rio Chillar with the intention of reaching La Cadena on the border with Granada province.
An intensive search by the Guardia Civil, Local Police, Fire Brigade and Civil Protection, also involving canine units, helicopters and thermal imaging devices, was conducted between July 23rd and August 5th. No trace was found of Mr Simm.

Not being funny, but has anyone including the police given any thought to the possibility of Mr Simm faking his own death? It’s been known to happen and I sincerely hope this is not the case…
Mrs Wendy T Simm says:
In response to Jojo gunne’s sick comments suggesting my husband would fake his own death!!!! What would he have to gain by that? Leaving myself and two children and 5 grandchildren grief stricken with absolutely no financial gain, no life assurance and l cannot access any monies e.g personal pension etc for at least 7 years. I am 60. He had no money , no passport, driving licence, or any other means to fake anything. You dare to comment on someone you have not the slightest idea of the kind of a man he was. A loving family man, a man who saw the beauty in nature, birds, flowers, who loved the outdoors, walking and taking excellent photographs. A loyal employee, a decent human being who would never say anything to offend anyone. He is out there somewhere and my heart breaks thinking of what could have happened to him and l give daily thanks to Michiel from Life Adventures in Nerja for attempting another search, perhaps you should put on your boots and join them!!!
Jo says:
Well said Wendy!!!!
We wish you all the luck in the world in your search. You have many loyal friends and ex work colleagues here, that know Gordon, and he know he would never ever fake his death.
Silly people should keep their silly comments to themselves, how would they like it if the situation was reversed.

JoJo – have you considered how upset Gordons family might feel by your comments ?
