The Council is once again requesting the Department of Health to fulfil its promise to send the technical project relating to the proposed Health Centre in Nerja so that it can be approved and construction started.
The project has been dragging on for nearly nine years now, with changes of location and administrative problems relating to the classification of the land under the municipal PGOU.
However, the change in use of the land from educational to health was finally approved in May and, despite several requests, no response has been received from the Junta de Andalucia.
The site designated for the construction of the Health Centre, down by the rio Chillar behind the Mercadona supermarket, has long been ‘urbanised’ in preparation for the start of the project but, in the intervening period, is being used as a car park.
