Responding to questions from reporters in Huelva following Cataluña’s decision to request a bailout, the Minister of the Presidency and Equality of the Junta de Andalucia, Susana Díaz, said that Andalucia ‘does not rule out the possibility of making use of the Autonomous Liquidity Fund (FLA).
She said that the Government has to provide liquidity to the regions if there is to be an economic recovery and that the liquidity fund is a ‘tool’ and, if there are no restrictions or conditions imposed, it could be used to meet payment obligations.
Diaz added that should it prove ‘necessary’ to apply for funds, the Junta de Andalucia would negotiate the best deal possible but one which did not infringe upon the powers of the regional authorities.
