All political parties in Nerja, PP, IU and PSOE, approved the latest motion rejecting the idea of prospecting for oil and gas off the coast of Andalucia. Several large energy companies are currently awaiting approval from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism to begin prospecting.
The parties were also unanimous in supporting a motion asking the Junta de Andalucia to pay its debts, specifically relating to 14 local residents who were granted financial aid to renovate their homes four years ago but have yet to see all the money.
And it was even more unanimity in approving a motion requesting the Public Ports Agency of Andalucia to complete the draft project for a marina on the border with Torrox. This is notwithstanding the fact that the Public Ports Agency has apparently already announced that the site of the marina will be in Calaceite, Torrox.
