Today was the opening of the financial bids relating to the construction of a multi-storey underground car park at Burriana beach.
This was the third opening ceremony, the first two relating to administration and technical plans. None of the earlier openings resulted in the exclusion of any of the bidders so there are still 28 companies in the running to build the car park.
According to the Council, everything is on schedule and work could start as early as the end of October.
But will it be used? Verano Azul had to be made private due to underutilisation, the Municipal Car Park never seems to have many vehicles in it and Los Huertos de Carabeo is invariably virtually empty. Or does it even matter? The money to be made seems to be in all the various licence fees.
