It is widely expected that a 3G version of the Google Nexus 7 will be released within the next six weeks with the manufacturer, Asus, already working on the tablet.
The Nexus 7, with an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, was only released in July and has sold out in many US stores.
The tablet was received with much enthusiasm with the only real criticism being the lack of 3G connectivity. The current Nexus 7 is WiFi only. However, that looks like it could be changing and within a very short period of time if the reports are to believed.
Apple are also rumoured to be working on a smaller version of the popular iPad, probably a seven inch tablet, designed to compete with the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire. If it doesn’t compete, Apple can always sue someone for something. The Nexus 7 is available in many countries, including Spain, but the Kindle Fire is so far only available in the USA.
There is no news on the exact date of the release of the 3G version of the Nexus 7, nor on pricing, although it is bound to be pitched higher than the WiFi only version.
