Apple has introduced the iPhone 5, the latest version of its best-selling smartphone. It is taller, thinner, lighter and has faster mobile broadband (4G) access and an upgraded camera.
The new phone is 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S, with graphics that are twice as fast, thanks to a new processor. The camera has also been upgraded to include new features such as a low-light mode and a panorama feature.
Apple have made the screen taller, allowing another row of icons, but opted not to go for a wider screen as have many of its rivals, making it easy to fit in a pocket.
However, as many feared but expected, the new dock connector on the iPhone 5 is smaller than on previous versions, which means anyone upgrading will either have to buy new accessories or an adaptor….from Apple of course.
