The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has announced that the Central Government remains committed to the construction of the sewage plant in Nerja and that the financial bids have been opened at the Ministry of Environment.
There were 14 bids by various joint venture companies (UTE’s) and the lowest was submitted by UTE Corvian-Corviam e Isolux in the amount of €19,210,773. The highest bid came from Sando, Construcciones Sánchez Domínguez y Abeinsa with €22,000,000.
The budget set for the project was €34,390,930, all figures being exclusive IVA.
The bids, financial and technical, will now be studied and the provisional contract awarded. The successful company then has three months in which to write a definitive project which must match the criteria included in their original technical bid.
Once the definitive contract is signed, the company has 24 months to complete construction plus 6 months to get the plant operational.
