A woman in Almeria has denounced a male only education centre in the province for sexual discrimination after she was refused admission to a gardening and floristry course.
There is nothing that the Department of Education can do to force single sex schools to take in members of the opposite sex but, following a Supreme Court ruling, such education facilities will not have their contracts renewed next year by the Junta de Andalucia.
The Campomar Centre in Aguadulce, run by a religious organisation, is one of sixteen schools facing losing their accreditation due to a policy of segregation of the sexes in education.
