A real downpour this morning in Nerja as the wet weather currently affecting most of Spain finally hit the town, and with a vengeance. Among the first to be affected this morning were businesses and shops below street level, such as in avenida Castilla Perez.
The Junta de Andalucia ordered the closure of all schools in Málaga province, including those in Nerja and Maro, due to flooding or the risk of flooding, much to the delight of the pupils. And many of the teachers.
As you can see from the picture, there was a fair amount of water in calle Pintada. The electricity supply appears to have weathered the storm this time, unlike in days gone by when one drop of water would have caused extensive outages, just a few second break at around 09:00.
TV signals do seem to have been affected in some parts of town, though.
