The TUR – Tariff of Last Resort – will decrease by an average of 2.29% as from tomorrow, October 1st 2012, bringing slightly lower electricity costs to around 20 million users.
The price of a bottle of butane gas will decrease by 4.6% to give a maximum retail price of €16.10 per bottle, namely €0.77 cheaper than the current price. The price of natural gas will remain the same.
With regard to the electricity costs, the price decrease is due to a lower price being obtained in the wholesale power auctions and the freezing of tolls. This is not the first time that the authorities have obtained cheaper electricity but it is the first time the cost reduction has been passed on to the consumer.
