A small boat carrying 69 sub-Saharan alternative tourists, with 5 pregnant women and two young children amongst the passengers, was intercepted today about 18 miles from the isla de Alborán.
There were a total of 16 women on board and two children aged 2 years and 4 years. The boat was spotted by a surveillance aircraft and a Maritime Rescue vessel was sent to intercept.
The passengers were taken to the port of Motril, arriving at around 15:30, and were tended by the Red Cross before being handed over to the National Police for processing.
