The Councillor for Education, Gema garcia, has filed a motion urging the Junta de Andalucia to take the appropriate measures to make schools in the municipality bilingual, as is the case in some neighbouring towns.
Only one of the institutes in Nerja currently offers bilingual education and the Council wants to see this extended to cover all schools and colleges, something they see as beneficial to all, especially in a town where the economy is based upon the tourist industry.
