Today, Friday, sees the launch of a new train service between Madrid and Huelva via Extremadura which will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The new service is an extension of the cuurent Huelva-Zafra line so as to connect with Madrid at the weekend as well as offering new direct routes between Huelva and Extremadura.
The new intercity trains will leave Madrid’s Atocha-Cercanías station at 10.28 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. From Huelva the service will be at 14.00 on Fridays and 10.45 on Saturdays and Sundays. All trains will stop in Gibraleón, Calañas, Jabugo, Fregenal de la Sierra, Zafra, Badajoz, Mérida, Cáceres and Plasencia amongst others.
The new service will also reduce the journey time between Huelva and Zafra by fifteen minutes to approximately three hours and ten minutes.
