A total of 30 people, 28 foreigners and two Spanish nationals, have so far been arrested in Málaga city for their alleged connection to a company supplying falsified work contracts.
The aim of the company was to provide work permits for foreign nationals for the purpose of obtaining residence certificates and social security benefits. The investigation into the company began last May.
In exchange for cash or work done, foreign nationals were able to obtain a one year work contract, a requirement for obtaining residency under exceptional circumstances in Spain.
The investigation is still ongoing but over one hundred contracts of employment have so far been checked, all of which had been sent through to the State Treasury Department.
