Over 200 residents in an apartment block in the centre of Almeria have been without water for three days after the tank supplying the block became contaminated with sewage.
The municipal water company has cut the water supply to the contaminated tank. The problem arose after the recent rains and apparently something went wrong with connection of sewage pipes during repairs to the street.
The water company says that the residents must resolve the problem by getting the Council to assume responsibility for the incident.
In the meantime, many people have had to move out of the block and seek refuge with relatives.
Surely the priority should be to resolve the problem quickly and argue about whose fault it was afterwards. After all, it is a municipal water company.
