The dense fog and mist last night and this morning in parts of Málaga province resulted in nine aircraft being diverted from Málaga to Sevilla and Granada airports. A Low Visibility Protocol (LVP) was in effect from 20:20 on Tuesday evening until 09:45 on Wednesday morning.
Flights did arrive and depart from Málaga airport during this period, the nine inbound flights in question diverted as a result of decisions made by the pilots of the aircraft. Most were able to get to Málaga at a later time although a number of passengers did have to be transported by road from both Sevilla and Granada.
