On Sunday October 21st, weather permitting of course, the divers will be out and about once more for the VIII Seabed Cleaning which this year will cover Burriana, Torrecilla, Barranco de Maro and the Balcon de Europa area.
This annual event is organised by the Nerja Dive Centre – Buceo Costa Nerja – on Burriana beach and this year special attention will be paid to El Playazo beach as the heavy rains in September are likely to have dragged debris down the rio Chillar.
Since this annual event began, the amount of rubbish retrieved from the seabed has been steadily decreasing over the years, which is a good sign. In the first year, the divers removed 400 kilos of debris.
