Ford has announced that it will be closing its factory in the Belgian town of Genk in 2014 and transferring the manufacture of several models to Valencia.
The plant in Valencia will handle the Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy, while the production of the C-max and Grand C-Max is likely to be transferred to a plant in Saarlouis, Germany.
Sales of vehicles in Europe have declined by around 20% and this restructuring is seen as a solution to current overproduction.
