The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has announced that the contract for the sewage plant was yesterday awarded to the joint venture company Corsan-Corviam-Isolux in the amount of €23,245,036.44 including IVA. This represents €23,091,222.88 destined for the construction stage and €153 813, 56 for the preparation of the project.
The completion period for the works is 30 months. Corsan-Corviam-Isolux now has three months to submit a final draft project to the Ministry of Environment for approval. Once approval is obtained, the actual work can begin.
The Mayor is reported as saying that although it is good news and a sign that the Central Government is committed to the project, there is still a way to go before the construction can begin.
