The National Police are investigating a shooting incident in Benalmádena on Thursday which left two people wounded.
At around 14:30 on Thursday afternoon, gunshots rang out from a garage in the La Paloma residential complex in avenida de Gandhi. When police arrived on the scene they found a number of shell casings but no sign of anyone wounded.
However, police discovered that two people, both of North African origin, had taken themselves to hospitals in the area.
One, a 30 year old man, took himself to a private clinic where he was treated for a bullet in his gluteus maximus. He was transferred to the Hospital Clínico. His wound, although not life-threatening, is apparently complex.
The bullet entered his buttocks and exited in the genital area, taking a complex path along the way.
The second man, aged around 40 years, is also in the Hospital Clínico. He was shot in the thigh with the bullet going straight through. He was stitched up and is also now under observation. Both men are in custody while the police continue their investigation.
