According to the ATA, the Association of Independent Workers of Andalucia, 75% of self-employed people do not support the general strike called by the CCCOO and UGT unions for November 14th.
They believe that after a precious day of work lost, the following day will see no change in the situation and will have just cost them money. They maintain that the strike will not result in more employment, credit opportunities, increased consumer spending, reduction in taxes or resolution of the ‘late payments’ problems being suffered.
Meanwhile, the president of the Junta de Andalucia, José Antonio Griñan, has stated that no government officials will be participating in the strike as their minimum service level is 100%.
