Ten wins and a draw for Barcelona so far this season, equalling the best start to a season set by Real Madrid. On Sunday they saw off Mallorca, beating the islanders 2-4.
Xavi, Messi and Tello gave Barcelona a great start before a second half revival saw Mallorca pull two back through Pereira and Victor, the latter from the penalty spot after Busquets decided to put his mittens on the ball inside the area.
Messi then grabbed his second of the night and Barcelona go marching on, three points clear at the top of La Liga.
Real Madrid are third in La Liga but eight points adrift of Barcelona and on Sunday they travelled to Levante, returning with the three points in the bag in a 1-2 win. Ronaldo and Morata scored for Real, Angel on the scoresheet for Levante.
Atlético Madrid got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Getafe, Adrián and Arda Turan the scorers. Atlético remain second in La Liga, three points behind Barcelona.
