The general strike has had little or no effect in Nerja, as one might expect, with shops, banks, bars, restaurants and even, rather surprisingly, the Town Hall open for business as normal. According to official sources, two employees in the Parks and Gardens Department, one painter and one employee involved in the cleaning of schools and municipal buildings have exercised the right to strike.
