In just over one month of operation, the new hop-on hop-off Tourist Train in Fuengirola has carried nearly 3,000 passengers, with 60% being tourists and 40% locals. The expectation is around 50,000 passengers per year. The Fuengirola City Tour lasts about 45 minutes in its entirety, but passengers can hop on and off (or alternatively climb aboard sedately should they so choose) as many times as they wish throughout the day.
There are five stops on the route: plaza Teresa Zabell, Yacimiento Romano, the feria ground and site of the Tuesday and Saturday markets, the Bioparc Parque Myramar commercial centre. The ticket price ranges from €1.85 for children to €6.50 for a day ticket for adults.
The train will run in low season from 10:00 to 17:15 and in high season from 10:00 to 20:30 (10:00 to 23:15 in July and August).
The train has two carriages, 28 places per carriage, and is equipped with an audio system in eight languages.
