The Council is still assessing the damage caused by the storms at the weekend, particularly on Sunday morning, but expects to be able to propose (and obviously pass) a motion later this week requesting funds from the Central Government and the Junta de Andalucia.
There were landslides which blocked roads in Punta Lara, the Barriada de los Poetas, San Juan de Capistrano and the access road to the caves.
The track at El Playazo was washed away near Merendero Pepe Mesa and needs replacing and there was damage to the promenade at Burriana beach.
A wall at the Municipal Sports Centre collapsed and the pavillion was flooded and a number of homes were also flooded, as was the liglesia de El Salvador, the colegio San Miguel and the upper level of the Verano Azul car park.
A palm tree in avenida Rodrigues Acosta also had to be removed after it was hit by lightning and caught fire.
In Maro, the road to the beach was damaged at three points due to landslides.
