Police in Vélez-Málaga have arrested a total of eight people in connection with two unconnected robberies perpetrated against one man.
It all started when the victim met a woman at a disco in Vélez-Málaga on October 23rd. At around 04:00 he accompanied the woman to her car where he was attacked by the woman and another man who was already inside the vehicle. They robbed the victim of his wallet.
The attackers drove off but the victim clung to the door of the vehicle and was dragged 500 metres down the road, causing injuries which required surgery. The victim was in hospital for several days.
Meanwhile, police traced the thieves, who had a history of theft, and arrested them.
The victim was discharged from hospital after several days and upon returning home found that he had been robbed. The thieves took a number of items including a large TV.
The police investigation determined that there was no connection between the robberies, just bad luck.
Five people were arrested for having carried out the second of the robberies and a woman was also arrested for receiving stolen goods after purchasing the TV.
