The National Police, in collaboration with the FBI, DEA and the Attorney General of Colombia, have seized a shipment of 248 kilos of cocaine at a shopping centre in Barcelona, the drugs having originated in Colombia. Four people have so far been arrested.
The operation began in October when it was learned that an organisation in Spain wanted to take over the distribution of cocaine arriving in the country. The organisation was formed by the union of three criminal gangs.
A shipment of 248 kilos of cocaine arrived in Spain from Colombia and was stashed at a shopping centre in Barcelona ready for distribution to ‘branch offices’ throughout Spain. Three people, all Colombian nationals, have so far been arrested.
Police also seized €3,000 in cash and two vehicles.
