Vélez-Málaga Council and the company Taramillas Zona Empresarial have signed a planning agreement to promote the construction of a retail outlet park in the municipality requiring an investment of over €32 million.
The project would create 550 direct and 330 indirect jobs and is expected to influence an area of between 160,000 and 400,000 people. The whole area would cover 27,462 square metres and there would also be leisure activities and parking for 1,300 vehicles.
Mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Francisco Delgado Bonilla (PP), has stressed the importance of the project, in which five companies have expressed an interest in settling in the area, but added that it did not mean the abandonment of traditional commercial businesses in the town.
