Thursday will see the Sierra Nevada ski resort become the first in Spain to inaugurate the 2012-13 season with 11.5 kilometres of piste open to the public. There is between 20 and 30 centimetres of powder snow on all the slopes.
The winter season opens two days ahead of schedule and the pistes open on Thursday will be Panorámica, Panorámica II, Collado de Borreguiles, Rebeco (part), Zorro, Peseta, Perdiz, Principiantes I, II, IV and V.
The cable cars and lifts open tomorrow will be Borreguiles, Emile Allais, Veleta II, Veleta, Stadium and Zayas. On Thursday and Friday there will be a special ski pass price of €30, thereafter the prices will be normal.
