The Association of Andalucian Marinas and Fuengirola Council have criticised the Junta de Andalucia for ‘unfair competition’ as a result of an ‘abusive and progressive’ canon imposed on private marinas since 2006 when those controlled by the Public Ports Authority pay no canon.
The AMA, which represents two thirds of all the marinas in the region, wants to see a modification to the articles of Law 21/2007 as it keeps increasing the cost of nautical tourism in the area.
The group are also critical of the practice of reducing the prices of marinas belonging to the Public Ports Authority, up to a 50% reduction in high season.
