Police in Madrid have arrested a 30 year old man for allegedly killing a six month old baby and wounding three other people. The incident occurred at around 13:45 on Thursday at a house in calle Villaverde in Parla, Madrid.
Thirty year old Johnny G.C., who shared the floor in the building with an Ecuadorian family, although he did not pay rent for his room, was apparently involved in a heated discussion, after which he allegedly killed the baby, seriously wounded a second child, aged 3 or 4 years, stabbed the baby’s mother in the stomach and also injured the grandmother.
The baby died as a result from blows to the head. His brother is in a critical condition in the Hospital 12 de Octubre, having suffered several blows to the face. The mother has a stab wound to the abdomen but it is categorised as ‘mild’. The grandmother is in hospital in Getafe having suffered knife wounds to the face.
Police are investigating the relationship between the detainee and the family. The detainee has a prior criminal record.
