The woman charged with freezing two of her babies, Sara L.H., has given birth to a baby girl at the Virgen de Valme, Sevilla. She remains under guard in the gynaecology department and the baby has been moved to the infants department.
Sara L.H., who was eight months pregnant and on remand in Alcalá de Guadaíra prison in connection with two babies found in freezers at the family home in Pilas, went into early labour and was transferred to hospital.
The judge at the Court of Instruction number 3 in Sanlúcar la Mayor, Sevilla, had awarded custody of the unborn baby to the father, despite requests to the contrary from the mother’s attorney. The mother wanted custody to go to her sister as the relationship between herself and her husband was ‘strained’.
