Midnight Tuesday is the deadline for the autonomous regions in Spain to apply for a bailout from the €18 billion Autonomous Liquidity Fund (FLA) and so far, nine regions have made applications.
The nine regions have so far asked for a total of €16.9 billion, but for the time being only €12.8 will be handed out. Next year the fund will be increased to €25 billion. Obviously optimism abounds about the economy then.
Andalucia has asked for €4.906 billion but only €2.133 billion has so far been granted. Andalucia is second in the ‘I want’ stakes behind Cataluña who have asked for €5.433 billion and have been granted €5.370 billion (90%).
In third place is Valencia who have requested €3.5 billion and have been granted 70% of that figure.
