The Government of Gibraltar has introduced a network of surveillance cameras on the border with Spain to capture images of queues of vehicles as they leave the Rock. They are in operation 24 hours a day and you can enjoy all the action here: Gibcams
The objective of the system is twofold. It provides visitors to Gibraltar with an up to date view of traffic conditions and provides back-up for complaints made to the European Commission relating to incidents of indiscriminate border controls carried out periodically by the Guardia Civil, particularly during disputes.
The European Commission had earlier stated that it had no tangible evidence of the queues resulting from the reported incidents of indiscriminate border controls.
